Our Calm Space offers you a retreat from your daily life where you will learn meditative practices to relax your body, calm your mind, and sleep more restfully.

 Restore Yoga

Our most gentle class is just right for everyone. Bolsters, blankets and blocks are used to help organize your body into relaxing postures that are generally lying down or seated. These restorative postures nourish the inner body, support healthy breathing, and leave you feeling refreshed and perfectly at ease.  This practice however is not a practice of collapsing, instead your mind will be asked to sense in detail what and how you are feeling.  Through this style of practice you will move into a greater awareness of yourself on all levels.

 Yin Yoga

Suitable for all levels of students, Yin Yoga postures explore new ranges of motion and increase the flow of energy in the body. Movements are slow, fluid, and circular and help prepare the body and mind for the deep stillness of Yin.  The yin postures may be done standing, seated, or lying on the floor and are held for longer periods of time. Yin yoga is an opportunity to slow down, breathe deep, and be present.

Restore and Meditate

Restorative Yoga combined with a lying down guided meditation. In this practice, you will move your body gently and then be guided into deep meditation accompanied by the sounds of music and Tibetan singing bowls.  This is a soothing practice for a busy lifestyle.

Yoga Nidra (Meditation)

Yoga Nidra is a systematic guided meditation that helps you to release deep tensions stored in the body and mind. This is a lying down meditation, so it’s perfect for beginners.  During the class you will also enjoy the healing power of the Tibetan Singing Bowls.

Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method is expressed in two parallel forms: Awareness Through Movement® and Functional Integration®.  This practice id designed to assist you in structural movement, sensing, thinking and imagining.  Many of the practices are based on explorations of the joints, muscles and postural relationships.  The lessons consist of comfortable, easy movements that gradually evolve into a greater range and more complex range of movement. If you have any imbalances or if you live with chronic pain, this is the practice for you.
