Our Calm Space offers you a retreat from your daily life where you will learn meditative practices to relax your body, calm your mind, and sleep more restfully.
Our most gentle class is just right for everyone. Bolsters, blankets and blocks are used to help organize your body into relaxing postures that are generally lying down or seated. These restorative postures nourish the inner body, support healthy breathing, and leave you feeling refreshed and perfectly at ease. This practice however is not a practice of collapsing, instead your mind will be asked to sense in detail what and how you are feeling. Through this style of practice you will move into a greater awareness of yourself on all levels.
Suitable for all levels of students, Yin Yoga postures explore new ranges of motion and increase the flow of energy in the body. Movements are slow, fluid, and circular and help prepare the body and mind for the deep stillness of Yin. The yin postures may be done standing, seated, or lying on the floor and are held for longer periods of time. Yin yoga is an opportunity to slow down, breathe deep, and be present.
